Summary

Perhaps because state residents value the quality of the police and fire protection in their communities, their sense of personal safety is very high. Nine out of ten respondents are satisfied with the protection they receive from police and fire departments, and a majority of this satisfaction is strong. Two out of three respondents would oppose cuts in support for police and fire protection.
